Sometimes lean meat is a great choice for lunch or dinner. Always choose lean meat, as it helps to manage heart health. Lean meat has less cholesterol and saturated fat.
This recipe is for a delicious yet very easy to do meal. All my recipes are for two people. If you cook for four, just double all the ingredients except the salt.
- 2 beef tenderloin steaks (6 oz / 170 g each)
- 3 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 tsp salt (or less)
- 1 tsp Roasted Garlic & Pepper seasoning (or a similar spice)
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 8 crispy lettuce leaves
- 12 cherry tomatoes (or other small tomatoes)
- 2 tbsp sour cream
- 1/2 tsp Tomato & Pepper seasoning (or a similar spice)
- 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
- 6 basil leaves (or 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley)
How to prepare:
Pan-fry the steaks in oil on medium heat for 3 minutes. Turn the steaks and cook for 3 more minutes. If the pan gets too dry, add a little bit of water (or olive oil) in the pan. Add soy sauce during the last minute you cook the steaks. Season with black pepper, salt and Garlic & Pepper seasoning.
Wash the lettuce leaves and cut them into slices. Divide the slices between two plates. Add one steak on each plate. Cut the small tomatoes in half and place them around the steaks.
Add sour cream (or similar) on the steaks. Season with olive oil and Tomato & Pepper seasoning. Chop the basil leaves and sprinkle basil on the sour cream.
